1. Who We AreVix Technology Consulting and Setup is a service arm of Vanguard Citizen Services. We provide on-site and remote technology guidance and basic device setup for households and small offices within the Louisville Metro, Hardin County, and Fort Knox areas.2. Definitions
• Client – the person or entity booking a service
• Scout, Knight, Commander – the three service tiers described on our website
• Add-on – any optional service chosen during or after booking, including concierge pickup, extra device setup, or extended travel
• Technician – the representative of Vix Technology Consulting and Setup who performs the service3. Scope of ServicesWe handle standard consumer devices such as computers, laptops, tablets, phones, printers, TVs up to forty-three inches on a stand, smart cameras that sit on a shelf, routers, and game consoles.
We do not perform tasks that require drilling, wall mounting, cable runs, electrical work, business-grade network configuration, or any service that by law needs a licensed contractor.4. Booking and Payment
• All appointments must be paid in full at the time of booking through Stripe or Square.
• Prices for each tier and any add-ons appear on the booking page.
• Mileage fees apply at 0.75 USD per mile, one way, beyond our published service map.5. Reschedule and Cancellation
• You may reschedule once with at least twenty-four hours’ notice by using the link in your confirmation email.
• Missed appointments or reschedule requests inside twenty-four hours forfeit the fee. You will need a new booking.6. Client Responsibilities
• Provide safe access to the service location and any necessary passwords or credentials.
• Back up important data before the appointment.
• Have original store receipts ready if you have already purchased items yourself.7. Data Protection and Data Loss WaiverWe take reasonable steps to protect files during transfers, updates, and setup. Electronic storage media can fail without warning. By booking our service, you confirm that you have backed up all important data and you agree that Vix Technology Consulting and Setup is not responsible for any data loss that occurs during or after service, except in cases of willful misconduct.8. Limited Service Warranty
• Scout tier – knowledge only, no warranty
• Knight tier – one follow-up visit or virtual tweak within seven calendar days on work performed
• Commander tier – one follow-up visit or virtual tweak within fourteen calendar days on work performedWarranty does not cover issues caused by user actions, third-party software, internet outages, or hardware failure.9. Limits of LiabilityTo the fullest extent permitted by law, Vix Technology Consulting and Setup and its technicians are liable only for direct damages proven to result from gross negligence or willful misconduct. Liability is capped at the total amount paid for the specific service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages such as lost profits, lost savings, or lost data.10. Add-ons and Extra Device Setup
• Concierge pickup and delivery – 29.98 USD, see Section 11
• Extra device setup – 10.00 USD per device, allowed only if the technician confirms that time permits
• Extended travel radius – 0.75 USD per mile, one way, outside the service mapIf requested work will exceed the scheduled window, you may upgrade to the next tier or book a new session.11. Concierge Pickup and Delivery
• We charge 29.98 USD to purchase and transport items on your behalf.
• The fee is waived if you choose to purchase and transport the items yourself.
• We act as your agent, purchase products at retail price, keep the receipts, and charge you that exact cost with no markup.
• Transport is limited to items forty-three inches or smaller that fit safely in a standard vehicle.
• Mileage fees still apply if the pickup location is outside our service map.12. Insurance NoticeAt this time Vix Technology Consulting and Setup does not carry general liability or professional liability insurance. By booking a service you acknowledge this fact and accept the associated risk. If we obtain coverage in the future we will update these terms and provide certificates upon request.13. AmendmentsWe may change these terms without prior notice. The version in effect on the day you book will govern your service.14. Governing LawThese terms and all services are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Any disputes must be filed in the state or federal courts located in Louisville, Kentucky.15. Privacy Policy

Vix Technology Consulting and Setup (“Vix”) is a lightweight, mobile technology service focused on setup and coaching. Vix is independently owned and operated by Commander Q of Vanguard Citizen Services (“VCS”). This policy explains what information we collect through our website, blogs, booking pages, and contact forms (collectively, the “Site”), how we use it, and what choices you have.
1. WHO WE AREVix Technology Consulting and Setup is a service led and operated by Commander Q as part of Vanguard Citizen Services. When this policy says “we,” “our,” or “us,” it refers to Vix and VCS working together under unified management and a shared email address.
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECTWe collect only what we need to deliver our services.
• Contact details such as your name, email address, phone number, city, and any message you send
• Booking data such as service tier, preferred date, device type, and service address
• Payment information. Stripe or Square processes your card payment. We never see or store full card numbers
• Usage data such as pages visited, browser type, and cookie identifiers. Google Analytics and server logs supply this data
• Communications such as emails, chat records, and support call recordings when you interact with usYou can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION• Schedule, confirm, and deliver the services you request
• Send invoices, receipts, reminders, and follow-up notes
• Respond to questions and provide support
• Improve our Site and develop new services
• Detect fraud, secure our systems, and comply with lawWe do not sell or rent your personal information.
4. SHARING AND DISCLOSUREWe share information only when necessary:
• Service providers help us process payments, manage bookings, send emails, deliver analytics, and host our Site
• Trusted partners or contractors may receive limited information only as needed to fulfill service requests
• Legal or government authorities may receive information if required by subpoena, court order, or law
• If we merge, sell, or transfer the business, your data may move to the successorAll service providers and partners must keep your data confidential and use it only for agreed purposes.
5. DATA SECURITYWe use HTTPS encryption, strong passwords, and two-factor authentication on administrative accounts. No system is perfect, but we work continuously to protect against loss, misuse, or unauthorized access.
6. DATA RETENTION• Booking records and invoices are kept for seven years to meet tax requirements
• Support emails and chat logs are kept for up to three years, then deleted
• Analytics data remains in Google Analytics for twenty-six months
You may request deletion of personal data that we are not required to keep.
7. YOUR CHOICES AND RIGHTS• You can review or update your information by contacting us
• You can opt out of newsletters by clicking “unsubscribe” or contacting us directly
• You can request deletion of any personal data we no longer need
• California residents may request a list of personal data we hold and may ask for deletion under the California Consumer Privacy Act
8. CHILDREN’S PRIVACYOur Site is not directed to children under thirteen. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If we learn that we have, we will delete the data promptly.
9. INTERNATIONAL VISITORSWe operate in the United States. If you visit from another country, you consent to processing and storage in the United States, which may have different privacy laws than your own country.
10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICYWe may update this policy at any time. The “last updated” date at the top shows when the latest change occurred. Significant changes will be posted on the Site.
